Sharpen Your People Skills (SYPS) Workshops
These are practical, interactive one to four day workshops, and
we tailor them to your group. They have been developed over a period of
nearly thirty years by Ken Williams, Ph.D., with International Training
Partners. About 150 facilitators from over twenty different
organizations have been trained to provide the workshops.
SYPS Workshops are designed to enhance
effectiveness by providing training in key knowledge, attitudes and
skills needed for developing and maintaining healthy relationships. The
training is very interactive, utilizing the most effective methods of
adult learning. Learning activities include some lecture, small group
tasks, whole group interaction, demonstrations of skills, practicing
skills and prayerful reflection.
A workbook
includes articles, Bible studies, self-assessments, and opportunities
for growth for each topic. To learn more about the specific topics
addressed, go to RRI Topics.
If you are interested in setting up a SYPS workshop,
go to RRI Set-Up.
2.
Workshops for Leaders and Administrators
These workshops are designed to help
good leaders, managers and administrators become even better. The focus
is on interpersonal skills and issues leaders face, in their family,
work and other relationships.
3.
Facilitators' Training Workshops
These workshops provide the training needed to
facilitate SYPS Workshops. They normally run six days, and focus
on the content and process of the SYPS workshop. Intense, hands-on
experiential training prepares participants in adult learning principles
as well as in facilitating the workshops. Facilitators may be able to be
trained to facilitate only a portion of the full workshop. These would
be shorter workshops.
Potential facilitators are carefully screened and
selected.
If you are interested in becoming a facilitator of
these workshops, prior participation in an SYPS workshop is required.
For more information about participation in this training, go to Training
Process.

Training in Adult Learning Principles
These workshops provide practical help in
applying the principles of adult learning to new and current
training programs. They are very practical and interactive.
Participants are equipped to become more effective trainers through
modeling and experiential learning. These can be helpful for
speakers, small group leaders and teachers. For more
information about this training, contact
Gaylyn
Williams.
